OCTOBER 2026

MANHATTAN MONTHLY TAKE

You may have heard talk about listings that are "not on StreetEasy." Here's what that means for buyers and sellers.

StreetEasy is first and foremost a lead-generation business. Its StreetEasy Experts program lets agents pay to have their name listed, which says nothing about how good they are. When you inquire about a home, StreetEasy may route you to one of these paying agents instead of the agent who actually represents the property. The site is built to sell your inquiry as a lead, not to connect you with the right person.

That's why more listings are now kept off StreetEasy. Rather than have a seller’s property represented by a random agent, agents will market homes through their own networks and private databases. As part of Compass, which has the largest private listing network in the city, we see many of these homes before they ever reach a public search site. Buyers who rely only on StreetEasy miss a real share of what's for sale. And sellers need more than online exposure. It takes smart pricing, strong presentation, and direct outreach to qualified buyers and their agents.

We like to combine technology, personal relationships, and firsthand market knowledge to help our buyers and sellers move through this market with clarity, confidence, and strong results.

As always, we are here to help with any of your real estate needs!
